Fun to watch.

To me, this felt more like a slideshow than a flash, so I can't give you a great rating. That being said, I enjoyed watching it for what it is. People who submit lousy flashes are one of the main problems on Newgrounds, especially when they think they're awesome. I liked the music and the font choice, yet the flash felt a little boring at times.
I'd like to see you have an HNT (may I ask what that stands for?) flash on the Barney Bunch. That'll get you a pretty high score, as it has a lot of do with lousy flashes, abusive reviews, and all the stuff you're covering.

JujubeLock responds:

The "How Not to" series is not something that is supposed to target any particular group, and I'm not very fond of NG politics.

Nice flash, gets the point across.

I usually don't care for clock/lock/glock/whatever flashes unless they're good. I can't say this was a great flash, as it was little more than Jujube lock and different backgrounds and text. However, it was good considering what the flash is. The way it was done was good, and made it funny. The analogies you used were awesome, such as the police officer and the pile of shit. Even though i don't like the sound of locks, the music was nice. I agree that abusive reviews are annoying, yet my whistle seems to like them.

JujubeLock responds:

You usually don't care for a kind of flash unless its good? Doesn't that statement seem redundant to you? Shouldn't it just be you don't like a flash unless its good?

Very clever

First thing I liked about this flash was the surprise ending. It gave me a chuckle. The sound was a little bit quieter than i would've liked, but at least it was perfectly understandable. The story was great, and I enjoyed the graphics. It was interesting how you were able to combine hot chocolate, books, and gasoline in such an interesting way. I'd like to see more work from you; you have a lot of potential. I have to ask though, what language was the book in, and was there some significance I'm not getting?

Lothenon responds:

First of all: Thank you for your positive review! I'm a little surprised, 'cause I thought the ending comes a bit too early and the story could've "developed" more.

To your question: It's the German book cover. That is because this flash was originally in German (I originally never intended to publish it). When I decided to submit it to newgrounds, I redraw the German writings and redubbed the whole thing. But I was too lazy to replace the book cover. That's why it's in German. No further significance. ;)

I could upload the German Version, but I doubt there'll be positive response.

Weird, yet cool

To be negative for a second, if there was a replay button at the end, it didn't work, as the flash just went right back to the preloader. The lipsynching wasn't good, and the music kept going if I tried to pause it. However, I found this enjoyable, especially for a first flash. The peculiar movements of the lines were fun to watch, adn the animation in itself was good. Almost hard to believe you did this when you were 12 (as you kept reminding us). I'm also glad that the audio appears to be compressed, at least somewhat. Very weird style, yet abstract and cool.

RichChap responds:

"Almost hard to believe you did this when you were 12 (as you kept reminding us)"

GAH! people kept saying how I repeated that I was 12 over and over agian. haha, sorry. Thanks for the positive feedback. The lipsynch was bad because when I made the sound event instead of stream it got screwed. Thanks though for the feedback

Very weird flash

The very first thing I noticed was that it took me a while to figure out how to get the movie to start. After finally being able to click on the blue line (I was trying to click the spiked parts rather than the original line) I saw what was a very weird movie. The entire movie was basically a spray can of fertiliser (I was gong to whine about how you spelled it wrong until I realized that fertilizer and fertiliser are both right) that was used on a mushroom, killing it. I don't understand the moral too much, as I wasn't convinced by this alone that fertilizer is good.
As for the graphics and animation in itself, a part of me absolutely hated the apprent lack of effort, but at the same time, I actually enjoyed the extremely abstact look of it. the purple lines on the black background give it a somewhat surreal feel that's hard to do in a flash, good or bad. It looked like the ground at times, the sky at others. The fertilizer and mushroom were drawn relatively well using only lines. Granted, I could say that it needs more color, sound, animation, and a complete makeover, and it would be true. It would be a lot better, but it would take away the one thing that this flash really has, and what probably allowed it to be protected: surrealism. Not a bad flash when taken at face value, terrible when compared to actual flashes.

Bezman responds:

You give a good amount of detail. It's always nice to hear the little things about your experiences, like your confusion over my button.

Your 2nd paragraph is rather insightful and raises some points, making me consider things I hadn't really thought about thus far.

When I consider my normal criteria (specific constructive criticism, one positive point, an overall appraisal) I see you met all 3 (what I consider) minimum requirements.

Your review, though, is greater than the sum of its parts, in the questions it raises; the points it states.

7/10

Weird

The concept was basically pointless. I could care less about the word "gug" looking a little weird. Then again, I don't have the mindset RiceGlock does. I liked how he seemed pretty happy about it, though, and how he kept asking a bunch of glocks about it. If there had been more background animation, and if the intro became bright a little quicker, it would've been better.

retr0smash responds:

ok then

Just plain odd.

The happy alive day flash had no point as it was just rotating glocks, although SunGlock was cool in that one. the SirClock one was just stupid. It lacked a background and good acting. I'm happy that gost reitred, as I never understodd its significance. I actually liked the inhaler bombing for some odd reason. probably since he said "laughing out loud" instead of "lol".

InhalerGlock responds:

laughing out loud

Man, where to start...

These flashes as a whole basically suck, and there no better individually. I'll give bonus points for GameSlaveGlock using Dschinghis Khan, but the flashing and rotating was just dumb. MilkGlock's flash made no sense. What exactly is "gug"? I have yet to know, yet don't really care what it is all that much. ShakeGlock's was.. interesting. The whistle (it was a whistle, right?) was drawn pretty nicely, so I'll give him that. The Naruto one was just weird. I doubt WadeFulp contributed one of these, though.

GameSlave responds:

Gug is kind of like the Glock's version of B. It can be part of a word like "gugish" or "gugtastic," both meaning very good. I made the Wade Fulp part. Thanks for the review.

My personal favorite so far.

First off, I was almost disappointed in the sound quality, but then I just realized that I needed to turn the volume up. It was fine after that. Again, nice graphics and addition of purple. The frying pan (or just plain pan :P) was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. It was pretty unexpected and just great humor. Anything that has that in it i'll gladly see more of.

JonBro responds:

Well, in BLOBBLES: FAT OF THE LAND, there will be more pan action (I hope)! If you like it, more will (try to) come.

Thanks!

A little confused...

This was another great short in the blobbles series. Smooth animation, good voices, a lot of blue, etc. I was kinda confused about why the mustard was green, and did he fall in a trash bin on the way down or did he suddenly become rigid? It was fun to watch, but it didn't feel at good as the first 2.

JonBro responds:

1- The mustard was green because in the Blobbles world, yellow's not aloud, publically (or outside of a house).
2- That was a trash bin. Didn't you see that trash?

...and
THANKS!
