Interesting

Took me a while to figure out what was doing on, but it was pretty good. The animation was fluid, and I like the lack of color and pattern used. It was definitely an interesting flash that could've used color, but it probably wouldn't have made it look right. The sound was good, even though it annoyed me a little bit.

I enjoyed it

Well, you're definitely pretty good at flash. First off, the sound was awful. We can all agree on that, and it needs to be improved. Get a better microphone if necessary. I enjoyed the flash, although I was kinda confused as to what was going on. The graphics were actualyl very good, and I loved the UFO animation (very plan 9-eqsue). The concept was good, but the ending was kinda weird. Great start though.

AngryWonton responds:

Yup, sound. I'll most likely be buying a microphone that isn't lots of years old, rerecording (aha, REREcording), and resubmitting. The plot was designed to be somewhat incoherent, though I had hoped the general idea would get through.
I'm glad you liked the graphics. Not bad for a first, hmm?

Didn't like it.

It wasn't a very good attempt at a sprite flash, at least in my opinion. Ness's animation was done well, but he wasn't really in proportion to any of the buildings at all. Having played Earthbound, I don't mind how the text boxes were done, but they could've went slightly faster. I like the Monty Python foot at the end, but it definitely felt short and plotless. I would've liked to see either more sprits, a longer flash, or something extra, like maybe that photgraph man dying somewhere.

FattyWhale responds:

This was more of an experiment to see what I could do with sprites...I was really surprised it even passed judgement.

Again, pretty good.

This one looked a little better than the first one in terms of the animation and graphics. Mittens is done pretty well, though I have no idea who the hell that other... thing... was. The humor's still good, and the sound's good, but it still feels liek it was missing something. The weird background looked a little rushed and didn't really appeal to me.

Pretty good start.

I don' think this is anywhere close to a 10, but it's not a bad movie. The lack fo color made it look pretty cool, as I'm pretty sure it was cone on purpose. The dialogue was pretty funny, and the sound was great, but I still didn't care for this flash all that much. But everyone else seems to like it, so my not loving the flash may be just personal taste.

Ultimate

I generally love semi-animutated music videos in general, but this was a lot better than one of those. Any flash with Mr. Rogers victorious over Chuck Norris is an instant win, and it was pretty much flawless. I would've liked to see Mario and Sonic more than in just those few frames, but the flash didn't really need them.

Weird, yes. Awesome, also yes.

I feel that this flash is a little overrated, as I can't quite se it as the #1 flash on Newgrounds. That being said, it's still hilarious. I love the quick animation and all the look of some screens being half-done actually makes it look better. The voices were great, and the story was fun as well.

Wow. Awesome does not quite describe it.

Blockhead's first major movie sacrificed a little bit of random humor for a more compelling story, more great chracters, and more Jeff Goldblum. It's a change I fully agree on. Then again, I'm satisfied with him either way. I didn't even realize you did your oewn audio until now, when I saw it in the credits. That in itself's definitely impressive, as that was some kickass music. (I wish I could still play the bells, but you're way better than I was.) The accent on the Scientist was awesome as well. The graphics were awesome, and even make your earlier Blockhead flashes look like a 6 or 7 in graphics rather than a 9 or 10. It's interesting how the characters seemed to somewhat ignore Blockhead, which I didn't have too much of a problem with, as his mere presence adds entertainment to anything. I liked how you did the paradox of a seriousness, deep story and complete random humor, which is nearly impossible to pull off properly.
Lastly, I'm impressed at your ability to respond to at least a good amount of reviews. Few flash authors of your caliber do that, if any. Come to think of it, I think I said that above statement to you once before... Anyway, I'd appriciate a reponse for what may be one my longest reviews ever.

The-Swain responds:

Ha, well, I'll respond about responses, then.

I don't often respond to reviews from the older flashes because I'm usually trying to keep up with the new ones. I do read every response, though, but I've noticed that it's hard for people to give suggestions for improvement on a series that people appreciate for being "random". The cartoons get mostly praise and some dislike, which is fine in either case. I haven't gotten any hateful comments to date, not even from the people who really, REALLY disliked Time Squad.
