10 Art Reviews

I can see why this is the highest rated artwork. Everything about this is great. The detail in her face and clothing is amazing, and the ambiance of the trees and accessories fits the scene perfectly. This must have taken you ages to get just right.

This is an okay drawing, nothing too special. The purple outlines don't really work, and adding a background for him would have been nice. the mustache is colored wrong as well.; it's black rather than brown. The detail is decent at least, and if it was done just as a quick job then it turned out okay. Pales in comparison to your later work though, you've certainly improved since this.

Waluigi is looking quite creepy in this one. What confuses me about this piece is that it looks like a few different art types mashed together It looks somewhat like pop art, but the nose has a clay look to it, and it doesn't look like it belongs. The face is very well detailed and I like the appearance of it, even though it actually gets more jarring the more you look at it, though perhaps that's a good thing.

I have to admit, I didn't think it was possible to make Waluigi intimidating. The guy's a nutty stick that they tossed in the games recently. Yet, you managed to pull that off. The lighting bounces off of him perfectly, and he does seem ready to cause some moderate-scale havoc. I like how one of the teeth is a bit stained too, it's an interesting touch.

I never really thought of Metroids as these scary creatures. In the games, they seemed like a pain in the butt, but not something Samus would have to freak out about. After seeing this, I'd be frightened to see one of these in the wild. Great realism and detail, and the backstory makes it that much greater. I'll be sure to keep away from them should I ever see one.

This is a bit odd, yet at the same time quite intriguing. The giant potato guy in the ground is cool, though I am wondering why both him and the kid have the looks on their faces that they do. The potato perhaps makes sense, but the kid? It makes that part seem strange. The trees, as well as the sky and ground, however, look stunning. In fact, it almost looks like the sky and the faces were done by two different artists. Perhaps that was done intentionally. Great work.

A very great portrait of the three alter egos of Cohen. The three are very realistic, and the black and white makes it look that much better. A minor nitpick is that the eyes just don't look right. Bruno appears cross-eyed while the other two seem to be staring off into the sun. It's great nonetheless, the odd eyes keep this from being perfect though.

In short, this is probably the best work of Mario I've seen. It has a very realistic feel to it, while still being the Mario we all know and love. His look of determination makes me think he's about to go after Bowser, or perhaps he is just posing as a threat to him. The color scheme, atmosphere, everything about the portrait works perfectly.

Well, I have to say this is an interesting submission, if nothing else. It is, in fact, a red line on a white background. There is, however, one issue. It's meant to be right on the middle, splitting the two sides, yet upon closer inspection the left side is just slightly larger than the right by a couple pixels. Part of the imperfection, or a fatal flaw in the artwork? I feel like it's the latter.

Wow, looks great. You can feel the emotion coming from him as he readies to go into battle, and what's going on in the background is a great touch. That being said, the sharp contrast combined with not that much color is a bit disorienting. Despite that, everything else is great, and even the contrast concern is really just a nitpick.
